What is the smoking ban?
Legislation that prohibits smoking in all public buildings and vehicles.
What must be done to comply with the ban?
No smoking safety signs must be displayed at each public entrance in a position that is prominently visible to persons enering the premises.
What are penalties for non-compliance?
Fines of up to £1,000 for failing to display the correct signage. Fines of up to £2,500 for failing to prevent smoking in a smoke-free place.
When does the smoking ban come into force?
Scotland - Already in place
